Bow Wow Announces Retirement From Rap at Age 29

The 'Let Me Hold You' rapper says he's preparing for his final album 'NYLTH' which will be co-executive produced by Snoop Dogg.


Bow Wow is retiring from rap music at the age of 29. On Sunday, August 7, the "Bounce With Me" rapper announced in a series of tweets his retirement and his final album "NYLTH", which will be co-executive produced by Snoop Dogg. 

" 'Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure' over 10 million sold. This the last one. THANK YOU," Bow Wow wrote, "I always said years ago I'd retire from music before 30. I just can't see myself at 30 years old rapping. Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? I'm good with everything I accomplished. I made it to the white house."

In exchanges with fans, Bow Wow said he had three upcoming TV shows. He's also producing two shows this year. 

Bow Wow added on Instagram, "My last album will be Executive Produced by my uncle Snoop and myself. Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him. ITS OFFICIAL!!!! THIS S**T BOUT TO BANG ON MOMMAS! And we aiming and im talking RECKLESS on this album. NOBODY SAFE #DPG #ATK THE TITLE OF MY FINAL ALBUM 'NYLTH'." 

For anyone who doubts his retirement will last, Bow Wow noted, "I'm NOT coming back wearing the 4-5. ITS OVER."
