A fight between rapper The Game and an off-duty cop Onyebuchi Awaji last March seemed to get no good end. The cop decided to sue the rapper since Game's punch might have caused serious injury in the brain.
On March 29, Game played against Awaji in a pick-up basketball game. They were engaged in a fight after Awaji started the battle by throwing an elbow at Game, sources connected to Game told TMZ.
The rapper whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor got angry and hit back the cop using his elbow. The situation heated up as Awaji threatened to unload his gun he put in his gym bag. "I got that thing," Awaji threatened Game, giving a clear hint that Awaji did have a gun.
Game said that the guy raised his fist first and that was when Game punched the victim on the face as a defensive action. However, a video obtained by the outlet doesn't appear to support Game's claim about the guy being the first to make a fist.
According to the lawsuit filed on Monday, April 6, Awaji said that he did nothing to prompt the battle with Game. He also claimed that after punching him, Game ran away from the venue as soon as he knew police were called.
Even though Game denied that the victim threatened to kill him, police are still investigating the case.
Prior to the punching, Game was also sued for attacking a fan on stage at a May 2005 concert in Washington.
