The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star and her rapper husband may have broken the law in Arizona for being escorted with security that rode motorcycles with flashing lights.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West landed in hot water over their recent visit to Arizona. The couple took the heat after being pictured traveling through Phoenix on Saturday, January 31 with a group of security that rode motorcycles with flashing lights.
Arizona law prohibits non-emergency vehicles from "displaying red or red and blue lights" on highways. However, the SUVs that carried the rapper and his wife could be seen, in a video obtained by X17online, being surrounded by vehicles with their lights flashing.
"That was not done by us, but they could hire private security or off-duty officers," Phoenix Police Department spokesman Trent Crump said as quoted by New York Daily News. He said off-duty officers could use flashing lights "depending on department policy," but he did not explain what those conditions were.
Kim and Kanye were in town over the weekend for a pre-Super Bowl concert held by DirectTV. Kanye took the stage with Rihanna at the gig, while Kim watched. The couple then headed to Waffle House for a double date with John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen.
