Model Ataui Deng Found After Missing for 12 Days

The 22-year-old model, who was reported missing by his boyfriend, finally is found at a local hospital in New York.

Ataui Deng was finally found at a local hospital in New York on Monday night, August 18, police reported. The Sudanese model was last seen around midnight on August 6 outside XVI Lounge at 48th Street and Eighth Avenue. Last Saturday, her boyfriend reported her missing to the police.

Ataui's friend, Ajax Deng, took to Instagram earlier Monday to share a picture of Ataui, captioning it with, "MISSING: My friend Ataui Deng has been missing for 10 days. She was last seen in the Lower East Side of New York City. She is 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim. If you see her please email FindAtaui@gmail.com. Thank you."

Fellow model, Joan Smalls, shared on the photo sharing site a screenshot of Ataui's missing report along with caption, "Please, keep an open eye for Ataui Deng, she is a friend and a wonderful person. I pray for her safe return home. #AtauiDeng." Meanwhile, Rihanna shared a picture of her and Ataui on Twitter, captioning it with, "If any one has any information on this young lady's whereabouts, please call the NYPD or email findataui@gmail.com"

The police said that a worker in the hospital where Ataui was being treated called them after hearing reports of her missing. The police added that they still did not know where and why Ataui was being hospitalized, they only knew that her life was not at risk.

Ataui moved from Sudan to the U.S. in 2004. She was discovered in Dallas after attending a modelling expo and later signed with Trump's modelling agency in 2008. She has worked with L'Wren Scott, Proenza Schouler, Kenzo and Zac Posen.
