Nicki Minaj's latest hit single, "Anaconda", has gone platinum in the U.S. The raptress announced the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday, October 7. She posted the single's cover art and captioned it, "Just released on UK iTunes and is now certified #Platinum in America #Anaconda #PolowDaDon #DaInternz @bigjuice205 on the boards baby!!!!!!"
"Anaconda", which features a sample of Sir Mix-a-Lot's 1992 hit "Baby's Got Back", was produced by Polow Da Don and Da Internz. The track will be featured on Minaj's new album "The Pinkprint" that's scheduled to come out on November 24.
The song's twerk-filled music video was released in August and broke Vevo's record for the most views in 24 hours after racking up 19.6 million clicks on the first day of its release. Following the racy clip's arrival, "Anaconda" soared to No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100. It is currently sitting at No. 3 on the chart and has been spending multiple weeks atop Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
