SIMONE BILES IN DOG KENNEL TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANIMAL SHELTER

By Scott Bregman

The four-time Olympic gymnastics champion spent part of the night in a doghouse to support a good cause.

Simone Biles may be the GOAT, but Friday night, she spent part of her evening in the doghouse.

The four-time Olympic champion and 19-time World champion spent an hour in a dog kennel to raise money – and awareness – for the Abandoned Animal Rescue near her home in Houston, Texas.

"I feel like we should be a voice for all animals, just because they can't speak, and I feel like once we're a voice, it helps them," Biles told Click2Houston. "So, hopefully, tonight some of these dogs can get adopted. That's the plan."

Biles has long been a dog lover, growing up with multiple German shepherds including Lily who passed away earlier this year.

“there’s a special place in heaven for dogs...🐾 I love you Lily Biles,” she wrote at the time in a tribute post on Instagram.

In early 2018, Biles and boyfriend Stacey Ervin (a former U.S. gymnastics national team member) adopted Lilo, a Frenchie.

Lilo, of course, has her own Instagram account with nearly 40,000 followers and posts about her life, including her support of her superstar gymnast mom.

“GO SHOW ‘EM WHAT YOU CAN DO, MAMA! ❤️👑🥇🐐,” a post during October’s World Gymnastics Championships read with Lilo standing behind a sign wishing her mom good luck.

It sure did the trick as Biles became the most decorated female gymnast in history.
