Based on South African President Nelson Mandela's autobiography of the same name, the biopic chronicles his early life, coming of age, education and 27 years in prison before becoming President and working to rebuild the country's once segregated society.
Justin Chadwick directs the pic with the likes of Naomie Harris, Tony Kgoroge and Terry Pheto joining the cast in supporting roles. The Weinstein Company will distribute it in theaters across the nation for a November 29 release.
