TOKYO 2020: Blame NFF, Not Players And Coaches For Falcons Failure – Baribote

Proprietor of Nembe City Football Club, Barrister Victor Baribote has blamed the Super Falcons ouster from the Olympics qualifier on the Nigeria Football Federation.

The former Nigeria Football League boss said that the disunity created by the federation when Super Eagles coach Thomas Dennerby unceremoniously left the team and naming of Asisat Oshoala as new captain of Super Falcons is the cause of the nine-time loss to the Ivorians.

Baribote in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports said: “The football administrators should be blamed for the loss. When there is disunity in a team, the mind will be willing to win but the body can not.”

“The players are not happy and it showed in the result. Dennerby was trying to build a formidable team but he seems not happy with his employer and left for his country.

“The administrators are only using football to develop themselves instead of developing the game and now football which is the only unifying factor that brings joy and smiles on the faces of Nigerians is beginning to bring sadness to is because of some selfish individuals at the federation.

He advised the NFF to retrace their steps and find out where they got it wrong and correct the wrongs.

“At this stage, they need to go back, trace where they got it wrong and fix it for Nigeria football to move forward.” He concluded.
