The deputy technical director of Nigeria football federation, Siji Lagunju has declared that the future of football in Nigeria is very bright.
Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, after the two-day football coaches workshop which was held at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium and was organized by the Ekiti State Football Association in conjunction with Ekiti State Football Coaches Association, had several stakeholders in the state football community attendance including the acting chairman of Ekiti FA, Otunba Ariyo Amos; former FA boss, Dr. Isaac Ayodele; Deji Samo, General Manager, Ekiti State Sports Council, Prince Ademola Adetola, former Ekiti State Sports Council boss, as well as board members of the EKSFA.
Lagunju, who was the resource person at the epochal event which had over 40 grassroots football coaches drawn from across different parts of the state, gleefully remarked that the grassroots football coaches in the state displayed so much enthusiasm and passion for the game, which he described as very positive signs of better days for the game in the state.
" During the workshop, the coaches showed so much desire to learn and improve upon what they already knew," he stated.
The unassuming football technician went on to admonish football administrators to follow the developmental template of Ekiti FA, adding that it portends a better future for Nigerian football.
