Smokey Admitted He Agreed With Those Who Slammed Ariana, Who Wore A Black Mini Dress At The Funeral For The Legend Of Soul.
Soul legend Smokey Robinson was far from impressed with the little black dress Ariana Grande wore to Aretha Franklin's funeral on Friday, August 31.
The singer belted out the Queen of Soul's (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman hit during the marathon six-hour send-off, wearing a puffed-up mini-dress, which many critics felt was too short and inappropriate for a church service.
Speaking to TMZ as he returned to his adopted Los Angeles after the funeral, Smokey admitted he agreed with those who slammed Ariana for what she wore, and told the outlet he felt her stylists should have intervened.
"She's a young woman and she's doing her young thing," he said, "and I think it was inappropriate. I do.
"I love her, I think she's a great talent (but) somebody in her camp should have told her she was at a funeral and not let that happen. I don't think she was trying to be disrespectful... It was just inappropriate".
