Usher and Wife Grace Miguel Split After Two Years of Marriage: 'We Remain Deeply Connected'

The couple announces their separation through a joint statement which reads, 'After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple.'

Usher and wife Grace Miguel are separating after two years of marriage. The pair, who have been very private about their relationship, announced their split in a joint statement to Us Weeklyon Tuesday, March 6.

"After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple," they said in the statement. "We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward."

Following the news, a source close to Usher revealed to HollywoodLife.com that his herpes lawsuit was the reason of their separation. "The suit drove them further apart and created a divide between them that was impossible to fix," the source claimed.

"After the suit, all trust and intimacy was gone making it impossible to recover, they could not go on as a married couple," the insider continued. "Despite all the love she will always have for him, Grace was getting sick of the daily questions from friends and family about Usher's shortcomings."

A second source revealed to the outlet that trust issues were also the reason why they decided to separate. "There were major trust issues between the two and there were lots of times that Grace expected he has a wandering eye," so the source explained.

"She couldn't get over her thoughts of him being with other people and that drained both of them and more issues then arose till they decided to break up," the source added. "Trust issues were at the forefront all along."

Usher and Grace started dating in 2009 and got engaged in January 2015. The two tied the knot eight months later. The "My Boo" singer was previously married to Tameka Foster for two years. They share two children together, 9-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond and 10-year-old Usher Raymond
