With the recent achievement, the Kendrick Lamar-produced effort becomes the second soundtrack album to spend multiple weeks at No. 1 in 2018, following 'The Greatest Showman' soundtrack.
The soundtrack to superhero flick "Black Panther" spends a second week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart this week. The effort sold an additional 131,000 equivalent album units, including 40,000 in traditional album sales in the week ending February 22, according to Nielsen Music.
With the recent achievement, the set has become the second soundtrack album to spend multiple week at No. 1 in 2018. It follows "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack album, which spent two weeks atop the chart last month.
Additionally, the soundtrack to the Marvel movie earns the biggest second week sales for a soundtrack since 2015. "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack racked up 165,000 in its second week that year, after debuting with 258,000 units.
Back to the Billboard 200 chart, Migos' "Culture II" rises to No. 2 with 64,000 units. Meanwhile, the soundtrack to musical drama "The Greatest Showman" stays steady at No. 3 with 61,000 units.
On the other hand, rapper Nipsey Hussle makes his debut on Billboard 200 chart with his first studio album "Victory Lap". The 16-track effort arrives at No. 4 after racking up 53,000 units. Of that sum, 30,000 were in traditional album sales.
Another effort which debuts on this week's chart is Brandi Carlile's "By the Way, I Forgive You". The set launches at No. 5 with 43,000, marking her highest-charting album on Billboard 200. It surpasses her 2015 album "The Firewatcher's Daughter", which arrived and peaked at No. 9.
Justin Timberlake's "Man of the Woods" falls four spots to No. 6 with 38,000 units. Ed Sheeran's "Divide (division sign)" also slips to No. 7 with 37,000, while Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN." climbs to No. 8 with just under 33,000 units.
Closing out this week's top 10 are Post Malone's "Stoney" and "Fifty Shades Freed" soundtrack album. While the rapper's debut studio album falls one spot to No. 9 with 32,000 units, the soundtrack to the erotic flick drops five spots to No. 10 with 28,000 units in its second week.
