The 'Cowboy Casanova' singer is reportedly 'hurt and offended' by Wendy's accusation that she lied about her fall to cover up a facelift.
Wendy Williams is back at it again with her nasty comment on another celebrity. The 53-year-old host commented on Carrie Underwood's recent fall during "Hot Topics" segment on the show on Monday, January 8 and it wasn't something that Carrie or her fans would be happy to hear.
"Did you hear about her? ... I really don't know a whole bunch about it, but she allegedly fell down a bunch of steps at her house, broke her wrist," Wendy said of the "American Idol" alum. "She [Carrie] released on Twitter that we may not recognize her when it's all said and done. I don't know what that means... an excuse for a facelift."
When the audience roared in shock, Wendy attempted to retract her bold comment. "No... We're cynical! She was already cute, so I don't know what she's doing or what happened," the actress said. She continued joking though, "If you're home by yourself, how long do you lay there? Who's going to save you, the dog?"
Carrie has reportedly heard about Wendy's comment and she was very upset. "Carrie is hurt and offended that Wendy would make such a horrible accusation," a source reportedly close to the 34-year-old singer tells HollywoodLife.com.
The source adds, "Carrie feels like her integrity has been attacked when Wendy accused Carrie of lying about her fall to cover up a face lift. Carrie is angered that anyone would think she would be anything but completely honest with her fans. Carrie takes Wendy's accusations very seriously. While she does not feel Wendy's callous comments warrant a public response, Carrie is consulting with her team, contemplating the best course of action moving forward."
As reported before, Carrie revealed to her fans that she got 40-50 stitches after sustaining an injury on her face during a fall some steps outside her home. "In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well," the wife of Mike Fisher shared. "I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."
She also warned her fans, "And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."
