After giving a sneak peek of his new song, which is about funeral and champagne, the Toronto rapper tells the concertgoers a story about meeting a fan at an airport.
It's been almost five months since Drake released his track "Signs", and it seems the Toronto rapper is ready to unleash a new track. During his recent show for "Boy Meets World" tour in Auckland, New Zealand, Drake previewed his new song to the audience.
The 31-year-old rapper showcased his beautiful voice as he sang the previously-unheard, mellow track, earning a loud cheer from the crowd. "Please don't stand at my grave and cry though/ I'm not there, they it made it so I can never really die, no," he rhymed. "Please don't stand at my grave and cry though/ Pop champagne, scream my words."
Also at the show, Drake shared a story about meeting a fan, who boldly asked him a question regarding his new song, at an airport. "I landed at the airport here, there was this kid working there and the first thing he said to me was, 'Hey, man, great to have you. When you dropping some new s**t, man?' " Drake said.
Drake then continued his story by saying that he was grateful to know that someone was waiting for his new release. He added that his new song would be coming soon. "That's love to me. I really do appreciate that. Just know I'm always working for you. I'm never sitting around wasting my time. So, I got s**t coming for you, don't worry," he said, earning another loud cheer from the crowd.
This was not the first time the Grammy Award winner teased a new song since he released "Signs" back in June. Prior to this, it had been reported that Drake might release a collaboration with Quavo as footage that played the said collaboration surfaced.
The footage, which has been deleted, showed the two performing in a club. "Put the owl on and you could never take it off," Drake rapped over the trap beat.
