A number of A-list musicians are set to help celebrate the life and legacy of the late music icon Prince. Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Chaka Khan, Tori Kelly, Morris Day and The Time have been confirmed to perform at the show which is dubbed "The Official Prince Tribute".
The show will be held at the Xcel Energy Center on October 13. Other stars lined up for the event are Anita Baker, Doug E. Fresh, Bilal, Mint Condition, Judith Hill and Liv Warfield. The New Power Generation led by Morris Hayes, along with members of 3RDEYEGIRL, will also perform.
"The family is extremely excited to provide an opportunity for the world to participate in the tribute for our brother Prince," says Prince's sister Sharon Nelson in a statement. The Purple One's friend and advisor L. Londell McMillan adds, "Many fans and friends all over the world wanted to have the chance to honor, memorialize and celebrate this incredible man. We're thrilled we were able to make this happen."
Prince's family originally planned to hold the show at the NFL stadium in his hometown of Minneapolis. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, September 19 at 10 A.M. CST via Ticketmaster and the arena's box office.
