The singer had to pull out of the band's gig in Mexico City last minutes to return home and cope up with tragedy involving her family's member.
Normani Kordei will skip Fifth Harmony's Mexico tour dates to attend to family tragedy. The band was due to perform in Mexico City on Wednesday, November 25 but Kordei had to return home following the death of someone close to her heart.
Kordei pulled out of the Mexico gig just hours before the five-piece was due to take the stage at El Plaza Condesa. "We know some of you have been wondering and we wanted to let our Harmonizer family know that Normani will not be joining us in Mexico due to a death back home," the band announced via Twitter. "Mani is one of the strongest, kindest humans we know and we're sending her ALL of our love. The harmonizer family is so vast, let's help make her heavy heart light. Meanwhile, Mexico, lets do Mani proud."
The remaining members continued to perform as scheduled. Although it is yet announced, it's unlikely that Kordei will be back in time for the band's gig at Foro Sol on Thursday.
In a series of tweets, the singer poured her heart out, writing, "I'm with you all in spirit, I'm absolutely certain that the girls will give you all that they have and make it the best experience. Out of respect I feel compelled to be with my loved ones at this time. I hate to let you down but remember that you're in my thoughts. Te quiero mucho Mexico, it deeply saddens me to write this. As you all know I recently loss someone very close to my heart."
Kordei did not go into details regarding the death.
