Busta Rhymes Arrested After Allegedly Throwing Protein Drink Bottle at Gym Worker

The 43-year-old rapper, who was arrested after allegedly throwing a protein drink container at a gym worker on Wednesday night, commented on the case, 'It's stupid.'

Busta Rhymes was arrested on Wednesday night, August 5 after he allegedly threw a protein drink container at a gym worker. The assault happened when the 43-year-old rapper was working out at Steel Gym.

Busta threw the protein drink bottle when he had a heated argument with the worker at the gym. According to police officers, the bottle hit the worker in the back of the head but the worker was not seriously injured.

An eyewitness said that a front desk employee got into a beef with Busta on Tuesday because the employee refused to allow cameraman who was going to record the rapper's workout routine inside. When Busta returned to the gym on Wednesday, he approached the desk to buy a bottle of water and a protein drink, and the employee told him he had to leave.

"Things got heated. Busta splashed water on him and the employee threw water back. Busta's security got between them," a bodybuilder from Brooklyn told the Daily News. "The cops came and (the employee) kept changing his story." The bodybuilder continued, "He was provoked. Busta never had any physical contact with him whatsoever."

Busta was soon released from the jail early Thursday. He commented on the incident, "It's stupid." Following his release, the "Calm Down" rapper took to Instagram to tell his fans that he's fine and would go back to work. He wrote, "Thanks to everyone who helped expedite this evening for me. I'm good and we're back to the grind. Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the bulls**t into GREATNESS. I'm super good. #THECONGLOMERATE."

Busta's lawyer Scott Leemon weighed in on his client's case, "It's ridiculous, it was literally a bottle of Muscle Milk. This is clearly an attempt by someone to take advantage of Busta. He did nothing wrong. This is a bunch of bull." His client is due back in court on November 6.
