Beyonce NOT Cast in 'The Big Short' With Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling

Michael Lewis, author of the book which the movie is based on, says that the 'Crazy in Love' songstress may have been added to the cast, but a rep for Paramount Pictures denies it.

Beyonce Knowles may not grace the big screen in the foreseeable future. Despite report that she might star in "The Big Short" movie adaptation alongside the likes of Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale and Steve Carell, a rep for Paramount Pictures has denied the news, telling Gossip Cop that it's "not true."

Michael Lewis, author of the best-selling novel, was the one who started the rumor of Beyonce's possible involvement in the pic. Appearing on "CBS This Morning", he said the movie started filming on Monday, March 23 in New Orleans and had "an incredible cast," including "Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell ... and I think Beyonce."

Beyonce's last movie appearance was in 2009's "Obsessed". She previously starred in 2006's "Dreamgirls" and recently lent her voice to 2013's animated movie "Epic".

"The Big Short" movie is based on Michael Lewis' "The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine" about the the build-up of the housing and credit bubble of the 2000s that led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010. Brad Pitt and co-stars will play key figures who played a role in the financial bubble.

Adam McKay is directing based on a script he also writes. No release date is set just yet for the drama film.
