Lady GaGa played a part in a lucky couple's engagement recently. The pop star helped a fan named Jay propose to his boyfriend Shawn during a concert in Manchester on Tuesday, October 21. Calling Jay an "incredible friend" and a "family," GaGa led them to the stage before watching the proposal. She then hugged the newly-engaged couple before serenading them with "Born This Way".
"My record label, a long time ago, they told me that my show is 'too gay' and I was 'too gay' or this was 'too gay,' " she told the cheering audience after taking her place on the piano. "I told them, 'Well it's a great thing that there are gay people all over the world!' Real human beings with real dreams and real stories ... you deserve to love and express your love the same as everybody around the world. I wish you a beautiful love and happy marriage."
The Mother Monster launched into the stripped-down version of "Born This Way" as Jay and Shawn sat onstage. The crowd sang along with the singer at some points.
The "Applause" hitmaker was most recently seen in London on Wednesday evening, wearing a black see-through dress. She also sported red-painted eyebrows. "Thank you Alexis Mabille for the dress. A real lady loves her lace," she thanked the designer on Instagram. "I was so happy to see monsters, I always feel at home in this gypsy life."
