Stevie Wonder to Perform 'Songs in the Key of Life' Album at L.A. Benefit

The singer will perform his landmark album in its entirety at the annual House Full of Toys benefit in L.A.

For his 18th annual House Full of Toys benefit concert happening at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on December 21, SoulMusic Hall of Famer Stevie Wonder will perform his entire 1976 double-album "Songs in the key of Life", regarded as the culmination of his "classic period" albums. It is counted among the 63-year-old singer's best-selling and critically-acclaimed albums of his career and is even ranked within the top 100 greatest albums of our time list by Rolling Stone magazine.

During a press conference held at Club Nokia on Tuesday, October 29, Wonder revealed his plan for the upcoming holiday concert to include some of the original artists featured in the said album. He disclosed that he's already on the process of "reaching out and talking to a lot of people" to make it happen, saying, "This has been a fantasy of mine for a while."

"I wanted to do something that would thank everyone for supporting my career and also thank God for me being able to do the music I do," said Wonder, a multiple Grammy Award-winning musician who has withstood the changing musical landscape as one of the most beloved figures in music. Helping to push him into his unique place in pop and soul/R'n'B music is "Songs in the Key of Life", one of only a few albums by any artist to be awarded a rare diamond distinction by the RIAA.

Without showing any signs of slowing down, Wonder even plans to release two new albums next year, "Ten Billion Hearts" and "When the World Began", a project with mega-producer David Foster containing reworked versions of his greatest hits backed by an orchestra, both serving as his first new album in the last eight years.
